The Washington Post Endorses Ed!

There is competition for the seat being vacated by Elaine S. Furlow. Three candidates are seeking the seat, and one stands out:

Ed Fendley, president of the Drew Model School PTA.

Mr. Fendley, a career State Department officer with four children in Arlington schools, says he would push for more foreign language instruction in elementary schools. He also wants to strengthen ties between the schools and their communities, noting that about 85 percent of households in the county do not have children in the school system.

September 14 VP/AYD Fund-raiser

Virginia Partisans and Arlington Young Democrats combined efforts for the first time and held an event in support of Ed's campaign. A great time was had by all! Thanks to our fabulous hosts Dennis Coyle and Dave Mallory for a fantastic evening and a special thanks to our generous contributors.

"It was a terrific and exciting event... we were thrilled to work with the Arlington Young Democrats to raise so much money for a candidate who understands and will fight for the needs of all of Arlington's students---gay and straight." Virginia Partisans President Josh Israel.

"Ed is a Young Democrat at Heart if there ever was one. He understands the diverse needs of the Arlington community through his many years of civic activism. It's no wonder so many young Democrats answered the call to attend his most recent fundraiser. They know a great leader when they see it, and Ed Fendley is the real deal." Arlington Young Democrats President Mike Lieberman
